Freq63 live

Better known as Batchas, Robert Massé was born in 1963 in Nizza (FR).
He starts "experimenting" with sounds in the early eighties while studying "Arts" in Marseille (FR)...
Playing "industrial" music untill nowadays under his Batchas pseudonym, he starts with "electro" in '88 and name this new project Freq63...

- '88/'89: First "raw-electro" experiments with minimal analogue equipment: TR606/TR808/Korg MS series... The idea of creating an "electro" side-project for Batchas, called Freq63, was born...

- '89/'91: First recordings by Batchas under the Freq63 pseudonym (first version of "Le rendez-vous": pre drum'n'bass composition appearing in '96 on the Forecast compilation)... New sound development = "ambient techno" and "hypno beats" on minimal electro rhythms.

- '96: Creation of Sulfur Records electronic label by Freq63.
First Sulfur Records split release on LP: "The mental showdowns"... With Freq63 recordings from '89, and new '96 songs from Tom Tone Meier, in a more "detroïsh" vein... Tom Tone, aka MononoM, also appears on the swiss "Mental Groove" and "Edison" label releases. First Freq63 live acts in Zürich improvising with Roger Rotor (Myiase member) & performing as The Mental Showdowns (Freq63 + Tom Tone Meier).
